who rose to prominence early in his career after being named the National Football League's (NFL) most valuable player (MVP) 

In his second season as a pro (2018) and leading the Kansas City Chiefs to victory in Super Bowl LIV (2020),

In which he was also named MVP. Patrick Mahomes is a member of the first generation of Mahomes football players.

His father, Pat Mahomes, was a middle-innings reliever in the baseball league.

Mahomes excelled in three sports at Whitehouse High School after showcasing his talent as a brilliant athlete with a powerful throwing arm even as a young child (near Tyler).

 He distinguished himself as a basketball player and performed even better in baseball and football. 

In his senior year, he pitched for a 23-8 record, threw a no-hitter with 16 strikeouts, and hit 450
